A virtual machine (VM) is a software computer used as emulation of an actual physical computer. Virtualization uses software to create an abstraction layer over computer hardware that allows the hardware elements of a single computer—processors, memory, storage, and more to be divided into multiple virtual computers. Each VM runs its operating system and behaves like an independent computer, even though it is running on just a portion of the actual underlying computer hardware.
Synergy sees that virtualization brings several benefits such as generating hardware cost savings, using resources more efficiently, enabling the creation of automated IT service management workflows, minimizing downtime possibilities, faster provisioning, and supporting legacy applications.Synergy also uses a firewall to protect the virtual machines from distraction, monitors and controls incoming and outgoing network traffic.
Synergy Business Application
Synergy has an internal attendance system called Synergy Business Suite (SBS). SBS was built in early 2020, just as the pandemic started. SBS could be accessed via phone or personal computer, created to make it easier to track employee productivity.
There are a few functions in SBS, as follows:
- Check-in and check-out in the office, specified location, or everywhere.
- Adjustable geolocation tagging with GPS.
- Check-in with or without a photo.
- My calendar (employee self-services to see the detail of their attendance).
- Timesheet.
- Dynamic org chart.

The regulation is made as a precaution against malicious attacks (viruses, malware, adware, spyware, etc), which can cause losses to the company like data corruption, data theft, data modification, and system failure. This regulation is also a guideline for access control, auditing, and monitoring that apply to our information, resources, and systems.
